Computer Management drives missing?
I have upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate on my main computer however before I did this I had to do a factory reset due to the issue of drives not being avaliable for when I wanted to upgrade. After I did my factory reset my computer was working fine and I upgraded. However after I upgraded I tried to access the drives to see if I had the same problem that I had on windows xp. This was that when I right clicked on my computer and selected manage it worked fine. The problem was that no drives were avaliable to select except for the cd drive. Any idea how I can fix this? : D

Did you install Windows 7 compatable chipset drivers? When you open device manager, do you have Sata controllers listed under IDE ATA/Atapi Controlers? (Assuming you have SATA disks). Are there any yellow exclamation marks shown in Device manager? Jerry

When I start up my computer it says something about two SATA devices? It then ask's me to press F1 to proceed. And I don't think I installed anything after that. Also there are no exclamation marks in the Device manager.

Sounds like you need to install Sata drivers. What is your motherboard model number and vendor? Jerry /

Dell Support doesn't list any Windows 7 drivers. You coud try the Vista chipset and SATA drivers shown here . Jerry
