Compatability
I just got a new computer with Windows 7 (64 bit version). I installed Corel Paint Shop Pro X ver. 10.01. My job requires me to send tiff files to the local newspaper for ads. We never had a problem until I got this new computer. I create the artwork, save as an uncompressed tiff and send. They can't open the tiff. It just appears as a straight line. They are using MACS. Is this the source of our problem and how do we solve this issue? Thanks

Hi,From the following website:http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Search.aspx?type=Software&s=Corel%20Paint%20Shop&os=64-bitIt seems that only the version 12 Utimateis compatible with windows 7 64 bit. You can upgrade your Pro. You can consider it: http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/us/en/Product/1184951547051#versionTabview=tab1&tabview=tab0Alsorun the software in windows vista compatible mode and "Run as administrator"to check the result. In addition, conpress the file and test it again to avoid the possibility during the tranporation.

Thanks for trying. I am already running in compatible mode and the problem is worse if I compress the file (they can't even open it). It looks like I will be spending some more money and buying the upgrade. I just hope that works. It seems that I can send it to other pcs uncompressed, but it may be there is something about MACS and windows 7.

Yes, do more test before spending more money.Send to either XP, Vista or win7 PCs to test the issue so that we will know the culprit.

Hi fishbait production, Please contact Corel support and confirm if version 10.01 is fully compatible with Windows 7 x64 edition. Also, here is Paint Shop Pro 10.03 Update. Please consult with Corel support if this update can resolve the issue. Please Note: The third-party product discussed here is manufactured by a company that is independent of Microsoft. We make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding this product's performance or reliability. Also, you can download Corel® Paint Shop Pro® Photo X2 Ultimate free trial version first to see if the issue occurs. If it works properly, you can consider upgrade to it. Regards, Linda
