Compaq Presario F7000 won't connect wirelessly or wired
Hello, Lately, my compaq presario F7000 running on windows vista will not connect to the internet. I disabled and re enabled the atheros card in the device mgmt and it found wireless networks but it will only connect locally and will not connect to the internet. I tried to use an ethernet card to connect to the internet but that also does not work. In the device mgmt it says that the isatap network adapter is not working properly, but as far as I know this card is only used for ivp6 connections which is not needed. I don't know if this helps but I just removed 255 malicious files from the computer ( the internet was already not working I just removed the files to see if it would help ). Any help on this would be GREATLY appreciated.

Check your internet properties and see if one of those infections didn't set it to use a proxy server. If so, uncheck it.

Hi Clean the computer thoroughly from any "Infestations". The process of being infected and then cleaning many times compromise the integrity of the Core Network System on the computer. After the cleaning Uninstall the two Network cards (wire & Wireless), and reboot the computer. The OS should Reinstall the Cards and refresh the system. If it does not help Uninstall again (make sure that you have drivers for the cards) switch off the computer reboot into the BIOS and disable the network cards. Reboot one time with No cards. Then reboot again enable the cards and Re-Install. Jack, MVP-Networking. EZLAN.NET

Hi, Please understand that we only discuss Windows 7 network issue in this forum. Regarding Windows Vista issue, I suggest you create a new thread in Windows Vista forum. To do this, you will get a quicker and accurate response. For your reference, I have enclosed the Windows Vista forum below: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/category/windowsvistaitpro Meanwhile, you can also try the following steps to troubleshoot the issue. 1. Upgrade the NIC card driver to the latest one as Jack was mentioned. 2. Bypass the router and connect to DSL Modem via wired cable directly to check the result. If Internet can be accessed, please upgrade the router’s firmware. Otherwise, please move on the next steps. 3. Assign a static IP address and DNS address to check the result. Thanks, Novak
