Comodo Internet Security preventing COntrol Panel apps from working
I tried to open Sound in Control Panel and got an error popup saying There was a problem starting C:\Windows\System32\shell32.dll Access is denied. Some searching suggested this can be caused by your firewall so I disabled Comodo Internet Security Defense+ and the problem went away. So if anyone else is having similar problems with Control Panel apps, check your firewall. Details are here: Defense+ blocking Control Panel Apps Windows 7

Hi Ztruker, This issue mainly caused by the .cpl file when loading in the control panel and the .cpl is related with the Comodo Internet Security. So, there are three methods to solve this issue: Firstly: If you want to use the Comodo Internet Security on the computer, you can use the work around: changed Defense+, Computer Security Policy for %windir%\system32\rundll32.exe to use a Custom Policy which has all Access Rights set to Allow except Run an Executable which is set to Ask. Second: Uninstall Comodo Internet Security from the computer, and turn on Windows Firewall and Windows Defender to protect the computer. Third: Change another firewall or antivirus on the computer to solve this issue. Betty

Betty, I found the %windir%\system32\rundll32.exe change before I posted here. It works but I don't know if that is the best way to fix this. I'll stick with it for now until I here from folks in the Comodo forum. I do want to continue using Comodo. Thanks
