Command Prompt for Check Disk?
Can I simply click Start--> Programs --> Accessories--> "Command Prompt" and type in chkdsk c: to check disk my hard drive?Mark H1 person got this answerI do too

Yes.
chkdsk can also take some command-line parameters; run chkdsk /? from a command prompt for the details.
