Combining two Administrator names into one name.
I have installed two administrator names at different times on my Win7 computer. I would like to combine the two names into one without losing any data. Any advice?

Hi Jerry. Unfortunately, you can't really "merge" the accounts. You can, however, disable one of the accounts with the 'Local Users and Groups' snap-in. That is if you have Windows 7 Pro, or above. You can get there by right-clicking on "Computer", and selecting 'manage'. In the left-pane you will see this snap-in. Double-click 'Users' on the left. Find the one to disable. Right-click on it, and select 'Properties'. Now under the 'General' tab select the 'Account is disabled' check box. That's it. Just so you know, when an account id disabled none the files are deleted from the 'Users' folder. Now you can have just the one account and move all necessary files from the disabled user to the active one. And after you have all the files needed, you can delete the user's 'User' folder. Also, you can delete the user from the snap-in. And if you want to just delete the user without disabling first, just open up the UAC applet from Control Panel -> User Accounts. Select 'manage another account'. Select the user to be deleted. Click 'Delete this account'. On the next screen, Windows will ask if you want to keep the user's files or not. If you keep them a folder of the user's files will be placed on the desktop. Please let me know if you have any further questions.
