Client Version Policy for SfB clients on Lync Server 2010

Hi!

I'd like to know if there is need to modify Client Version Policy in Lync Server 2010 with February 2015 Cumulative Update (4.0.7577.710) installed for support Skype for Business clients after April 16th.

By default server blocks clients with UA = OC<2.0.6362.97 and OC<=3.5.6907.83.

I'd like to bu sure if I need to add new or modify existing rules in Lync Server 2010 Control Panel for clients with lates updates?

Regards,

Gregory

April 14, 2015 update for Skype for Business (Sfb)
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2889923

is the official RTM release to apply on 32- or 64- bit of Lync 2013 desktop clients (Windows platform) only. To control the actual UI, Lync Server 2013 with Dec 2014 cumulative update and higher (not 2010) or Sfb Server 2015 is required where the user must be hosted with a ClientPolicy configured with EnableSkypeUI where appropriate. Left as it is, users homed on Lync Server 201x Front-End pool will default to the "classic" Lync skin user interface.

Hope this helps. Thanks.

Hi Gregory,

No , you do not need to configure the client version policy.

The current version of Skype for Business is 15.0.4711.1002. This is an update for Lync 2013, if Lync 2013 can work, the Skype for Business also can work.

Please follow the article below to configure the client experience with Skype for Business.

Best regards,
