Cisco VPN Install Error
Hello! In order to use the ressources from my University, I have to use a Cisco VPN Client. All things worked out smoothly until one week ago. Back then, my VPN Client Cisco AnyConnect 2.4.0196 was prompted to make an upgrade and, when it tried, I got the error number 1722: Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Action VACon_Install, location: C:\Program Files\Cisco\Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client\VACon.exe, command: -install "C:\Program Files\Cisco\Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client\vpnva.inf" VPNVA. When I tried to reinstall the older version, it didn't work, I got the same thing on the screen. Afterwards, I tried to install a more primitive and not so well supported Cisco VPN Client, the Cisco VPN Client version 5.0.06.0160. It didn't work, I got the following error: Error 27850. Unable to manage networking component. Operating system corruption may be preventing installation. I've been checking for days for anything left by Cisco in the systems, I've erased every key left from them, but I couldn't make it work. I'm no IT specialist, so I don't really know what to do next, how to find out which component is corrupted and how to repair it. Thanks for the help!

Hi, This is a Cisco VPN program issue, and not related to Windows 7. Therefore I suggest you contact Cisco support or discuss in Cisco forum for more assistance. Hi, Has there been any resolution on this. I am having the same challenges. No help seems to be available. My specifics are that I am running Windows7 Ultimate on an HP Laptop. Windows 7 was upgraded from Vista and it was not a clean install.

Ditto with RonsterSA, or maybe RonsterSA, have you found a resolution to this? Having the exact same issue.

Keep in mind that the regular Cisco VPN Client will not work with mobile broadband connections in 7. Only the AnyConnect client will. The AnyConnect client also uses a different type of certificate. Definitely take this up with your University's IT dept or Cisco.
