Cisco VPN Client 4.8.01.0300
Client software won't connect. Reports connection terminated by client. Uninstall very difficult.; need to kill process, but denied. Network connector created by install wont display properties; locks up.

I am also seeing the same issue with running the VPN client. I have noticed in the logs that the Windows Defender is flagging the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\eacfilt.sys file as a potential spyware. this I beleive is the driver for the VPN client which if not loaded would explain the problem? I have tried to add the file to be exempt but it doesn't seem to stick after a reboot?

Hi You need to use VPN Client 4.8.01.0410. This is a beta vpn client from Cisco written for Vista. It work fine on beta 2, but on the July cpt build it causes BSOD when trying to get my laptop into sleep or hibernation mode. (The vpn client woks fine). Nimrod-dk

I had a similar issue and it was conflicting with my virus scan.I was using Titanium Panda for my virus protection. When i uninstalled panda and re-installed vpn it worked just fine.

I tried everything I found on the first 3 Google pages but without success.. Wasted hours on this.. There are other clients to connect to a Cisco VPN network.. Take a look at what I found: http://blog.hebbink.com/post/2009/12/20/Error-56-The-Cisco-Systems-Inc-VPN-Service-has-not-been-started.aspx
