Are you running X86 or X64? If X64 then you will be out of luck. Cisco VPN client isn't compatible with any X64 system and Cisco has no plans to create an X64 version. If X86, you can try reinstalling in compatibility mode.

I did an inplace upgrade to a Windows Vista Ultimate machine to Windows 7 Ultimate - took approx 4 hours...When trying the CISCO VPN client (was working on Vista pre upgrade) I would get an error 440 - Driver FailerI uninstalled this product - rebooted, and then installed the product again.The actual install goes fine but at the end it wants a reboot.During the reboot it Blue ScreensMicrosoft - When you have configured an automatic reboot (default settings) why do you not at least give the user the ability to read the message? This worked for me with cisco VPN 5.0.04.300. Install a fresh copy of windows 7 and then install cisco vpn.

None of these solutions worked for me does anyone else have any ideas?

Thanks for posting this, you saved me a lot of work. I'm using the 64 bit and so now I can let go of trying to get it to install.

If the workaround on the link above doesn't work (as it didn't for me), try installing the Cisco VPN v5.0.02.090 (the newest one I have, but newer ones may work this way too.) FIRST.I ran a clean install of W7 Beta and the first thing I did was installed the VPN (after connecting to my domain so I could download it) and the installation went fine. Originally I had installed a handful of other programs before the VPN client and I was getting the BSOD and requests for a system restore after installing.Hope this helps!

This worked for me. Installed Cisco's VPN Client 5.0.5.0280-k9 client. Don't restart when prompted. Download and install Citrix dneupdate, don't restart when prompted. Add Cisco VPN client.exe to the Firewall. Than restarted. Got rid of the BSD and works great.

Have wou ever tried Shrew Soft VPN Client ? Much faster than Cisco client, free, compatible with many VPN protocols and all Windows 7 RC versions including 64bits! I stopped setting up Cisco's at first use of this piece of software. http://www.shrew.net/software

Thanks Patou.net This software solved all my issues with CiscoClient. I will never got back. Had it running in under 15 minutes. First try. I just jumped right to the Client Setup and assumed our Network guys had the CiscoPix setup correctly as we have been user the VPN under XP for many years. Thanks again...Thank you!

What version of the Shrew Soft VPN Client are you using? I've tried both vpn-client-2.1.5-rc-1 and vpn-client-2.1.5-rc-2 on 64-bit Windows7 with limited success. While I can get the tunnel established, none of the vpn dhcp settings take nor do the routes to the vpn subnets appear in the routing table. Thanks

I have the same problem than neovox with with the 2.2.0-alpha-9 version on a vista 32 : the tunnel seems to establish but the IP configuration shown by ipconfig does not seem right at all
