Cisco LEAP support
My company uses Cisco WAPs and an ACS. We use LEAP for all wireless connections and it was built-in to both Intel wireless and Dell wireless drivers in Windows XP. With Vista, it was removed on all Dell drivers and Intel added LEAP support late. I've been asking Dell if they will reinstate LEAP support for their WLAN card drivers in Windows 7. Apparently, no one at Dell can is willing to answer my question. Does anyone know if Dell or Intel WLAN cards will have drivers with built-in support for Cisco LEAP in Windows 7? Thanks in advance.

I (along with lots of potential Windows 7 corporate customers in the US and the western world) also feel your pain. On some wireless chipsets on Win7 laptops you can use yea old Vista drivers and wireless mgrs; but on our Dell E6500 laptops; I have not been able to get a workaround. How about it Dell, Intel & Microsoft ? Can we have CiscoLEAP support for Windows 7 please ?

Hi, On whatever Windows systems, in order to enable LEAP, devices drivers need to include it and be installed in system. Therefor this forum is not the best resource to answer your question. You may still need to wait for the replies from Dell and Intel.Arthur Xie - MSFT

I know this probably isn't the right forum, but I found a resolution on my end. Intel has released the appropriate software on their website in order to add "Cisco: LEAP" as an available authentication means in Vista and Windows 7. Once I had that in place, I was still unable to connect but updating my Cisco Secure ACS (RADIUS) server from 3.x to 4.x it immediately worked. I hope this helps someone like it did for me. Chris

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&keyword="PROSet/Wireless+WiFi+Connection+Utility+vista" Lists both Vista and Windows 7 drivers - came across the link on another site. Trying to find the drivers directly on the Intel Download Center would not list Win 7 drivers... Note that the latest version of Win 7 driver does not support the older 3945ABG chipset - so use the older one listed.
