Step 2 of the deployment wizard continues to give me the following error:

Checking prerequisite Wmf2008R2...installing...failure code 3

When checking the logs I get:

Error: Prerequisite installation failed: Wmf2008R2

This is a brand new standard install on 2008 R2 server. Everything has went great up until this point. Please help.

I am assuming that your 2008 R2 server has SP1 installed.  If so, the Windows Media Format Runtime is a different file name.  Lync has not updated the setup script yet to reflect this.  Here is a KB that describes the scenario and fix:
