Check which firewall is running on XP Pro SP3
Hi,I have a strange issue here and do not know what causes it. From the Windows Security Center, it shows that Firewall is ON when I checked the windows Firewall is OFF. I have AVG Anti Virus installed up and running. I have its firewall disabled and this still shows the firewall is ON in the Windows Security Center.I quickly run the malwarebyte program to see if the PC is infected by any viruses or malwares but detected nothing. I have run AVG Anti Virus scan on the whole hard drive but found nothing. I do not know what else to try here. However, I noticed that the PC has the motherboard that has two built-in LAN connections, one wireless connection. It is running on XP Pro SP3. Currently, I am using only one LAN connection, and hence, I was trying to disable the other LAN connection (that has status "network cable unplugged") and the wireless connection. The problem I have is when I was trying to disable the other LAN connection, I received an error message as follow"Error Disabling Connection- It is not possible to disable the connection at this time. This connection may have one or more protocals that do not support Plug-and-Play, or it may have been initiated by another user or system account."I was wondering if there is a work around for this issue. It's driving me mad at the moment. I am having two issues here - one is with the firewall and the other one is unable to disable the spare LAN connectionsAny help would be greatly appreciated.Thank you in advance1 person needs an answerI do too
