Changing the expiration date of a certificate.
I have a simple certifcate that was created using 'makecert'. In browsing I find that the certificate has expired. Is there a way to change the expiration data either through MMC or with C#?

Hi,
Thanks for the post!
Changing the expiration date of a certificate is not recommended. Please contact the manufacture for the date problems.

It may not be recommended but this is a certificate that I have made using 'makecert'. I could just 'make another' but it would be alot less hassle if I could just change the expiration date of the existing certificate.

I think you can make the same certification, and change the expiration date of your new ceritifcate.
Try that."Everything we do is dictated by motive."

I have. If I make a new certificate then it creates a new encryption key and all encryption based on the old certificate now fail. It would be alot less work if I could just change the expiration date of the certificate that is already in use.
Thank you.
