Changing shortcut keys in windows 7
hi there...I have scowered the net for this information and now i try here :)I read a blog about a way to give administrators the posibility to elevate the "opening a folder" feature in explorer with adminsitrative rights. You can't do this is the integrated explorer in windows seven so the microsoft guy had made a plugin that works with explorer++. Explorer++ is a standalone explorer tool for windows and with the plugin you can open folders in explorer with administrative priviliages...the thing that bothers me as i usually use the windows key + E to open my explorer and therefore i would like the change my windows 7 setting so that when i push the windows key + E i don't open the windows 7 integrated explorer but insted explorer++can anyone tell me how to do this?

If you do not want to modify registry or use 3rd party tools. There is an easy work around: create a shortcut for explorer++ and set its shortcut key as Ctrl +Alt +E. If you insisted to change the system shortcut key Win+E, you may have to:1.Download HoeKey from http://www.bcheck.net/apps/hoe.htm 2.Open Hoekey in Windows XP compatible mode + Administrator privilege, you can add Win+[x] shortcut key to explorer++, but it cannot overwrite the system default ones.3.Disable all hotkeys except Win+L and Win+U, add NoWinKeys value to the following Reg key.[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]"NoWinKeys"=dword:00000001 4.Add a line to launch explorer++ with Win+E.e.g. ~E=Run|"C:\explorer++_1.0.0.0_x86\Explorer++.exe" since it will disable many useful system shortcut keys, I suggest you use the work around Ive mentioned at the beginning.

Hey, one of the things I loved about HoeKey was make current window editable (_~Y=Editify). Do you know how I could do that in Windows 7?
