Changing password security policy in windows 7 home edition
Microsoft says to run secpol.msc from the start menu. This program doesn't exist. How do I change the password expiration policy in windows 7 home edition.

I believe you must upgrade to Professional to gqain that capability. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.

I am not familiar with home edition, but to access the local policies (all of them..secpol is for specifically security policies which is a subset of all policies), you would normally just click on start, run, type GPEDIT.MSC. This will open an MMC console for the local policy. If this does not work for you, then I have to assume that home edition doesnt support it. Visit: anITKB.com, an IT Knowledge Base.

Hi, Group Policy and MMC is not supported for Windows 7 Home Edition. However, you can change the corresponding registry to archive the task.
