Changing bluetooth audio device breaks audio
Hi, when ever I want to change from one Bluetooth Audio Device to another I completely loose Bluetooth Audio Output ability on my Windows 7 computer. When I try to manually reconnect the new device it doesn't work. But also when I now want to go back to the previous bluetooth audio device this also doesn't work anymore. What can I do? Is there a way to reset the bluetooth stack? ThanksMikeH

Hi, Thanks for the post! This behavior occurs because audio devices in Windows 7 do not dynamically switch when you add a new device, such as a Bluetooth audio device. To work around this behavior, please set the Bluetooth audio device as the default audio device in Windows 7. Refer to the following: 1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel. 2. In Control Panel, click Hardware and Sound. 3. Under Sound, click Manage audio devices. 4. In the Sound box, click the Playback tab, select the Bluetooth device, click Set Default, and then click OK. 5. Restart all the multimedia programs that are currently running. Hope it helps! Hi, sorry Miya but I know how to switch the default audio device. That's not the problem. Maybe I was not precise enough, sorry about that. The problem is the bluetooth device itself. If I go to devices and printer and double click the bluetooth loudspeaker or headset device I want to use, then try to connect the device, it is not connecting. Also if I had another audio bluetooth device connected before, which I disconnected for the new device, I'm not able to reconnect the old bluetooth device again. When I restart the computer everything works as expected until I want to switch the device. This is my problem. I think the problem is not audio related instead it is more bluetooth releated or a combination of both. So the the question is, how can I restart the bluetooth stack, to reenable the bluetooth audio support again, without restarting the computer. Thanks for your answerMikeH
