Changing DHCP Scope
I've been seening the following error message in the Event Viewer for months. My network seems to be functioning properly, but I'd like to eliminate the source of the error if possible. Any help on how to change the IP scope would be appreciated. The DHCP allocator has disabled itself on IP address 192.168.2.27, since the IP address is outside the 192.168.0.0/255.255.255.0 scope from which addresses are being allocated to DHCP clients. To enable the DHCP allocator on this IP address, change the scope to include the IP address, or change the IP address to fall within the scope.

Thanks for the TechNet lead Joson, but it was only partially helpful. I'm running Vista Business and the TechNet article appears to be aimed at WinXP users. ICS is not enabled on my system, and there is no "Routing and Remote Access" option in my Administrative Tools. I use a Linksys WRT300N wireless router for DHCP service. Both TCP4 and TCP6 are configured to obtain (DHCP) IP addresses automatically. The event error source is ipnathlp, which I believe is malfunctioning. The event viewer errors relating to TCP6 are different, but I'll be happy to solve one problem at a time.

Hi, Please collect the following information on the Windows Vista machine for further reserach: 1. Windows IP Configuration (ipconfig /all). 2. System Information:1) Click Start, type msinfo32 in the Start Search box, and press Enter.2) In the System Information window, click File, click Save to export the information to a .NFO file. 3. Export the Event Viewer. After that, please zip and upload the above files to the following space: https://sftasia.one.microsoft.com/choosetransfer.aspx?key=87c48d73-e602-4661-89d5-e2d90ee3f9bd Password: kCr4RKYbmv37Gy
