Changed to IMAP from POP and all Emails are deleted from Outlook Express Trash folder
Changed from POP email to IMAP. If I go to my web mail and delete a email it is in the trash. If I delete it from Outlook Express it is neither in the OL trash or the web mail trash...It just disappears from the server and the outlook. Go Daddy is telling me it is something on the Outlook side since they can get it to work through the web mail correct....I have checked all my setting that I can find and I don't have it to delete once logging off or changing folders...My purge is not set to happen...Looking for help...Thanks.

Check in 'View|Current View', if you have a "Show Deleted Messages" entry, add a checkmark to it. IMAP shows deleted messages as grey with a strike-through line until they are purged and this can be hidden. Also, this forum is for Outlook, not Outlook Express.Hal--Hal Hostetler, CPBEBroadcast Engineer/I.T. Hal, thanks for the feedback and sorry for posting in the wrong form....I can see what I want to delete in my in box with a strike-through but why don't they end up in my trash folder?

That's the way IMAP works, everything happens on the server and what you see is a local representation. On newer email clients (Like Windows Live Mail and Outlook 2010) you have the option to move these deleted messages to the server's Deleted Items folder; you don't have that option with Outlook Express.Hal--Hal Hostetler, CPBEBroadcast Engineer/I.T.
