Changed registry key from Application Data to AppData under Adobe's advice. Now lost templates, smart tags etc
Hello EveryoneMy Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 died today. I 'instant chatted' with support at Adobe. They asked me to change my registry key in Windows (I use XP) from Application Data to App Data. Now my Acrobat works fine, but I've lost ALL other settings. This includes:My preferences in all of adobe CS (including pallette layouts etc)My Outlook Email footerMost importantly, my Smart Tags in Outlook. These are just the programmes I've used in the last few hours. I can't figure out how to get all these programmes to point at App Data. I'm no IT expert. Thanks in advance! Terri

This is a Vista group so your talking to people who haven't used XP in years. If my memory serves me correct AppData (the folder) was invented in Vista and on XP should be Application Data (Vista has compatability for XP programs that use Application Data redirecting it to AppData without the program knowing). If you changed HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders it was stupid advice from Adobe. Change it back. If it was a different key then post back what key it was. -- ..--"terri_a" wrote in message news:5e9ba7ba-85f6-4b2c-8ca3-07bfd6751b5f...> Hello Everyone>> My Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 died today.
