Change the PS2 mouse update speed
Hello, Is there a way to change the PS2 mouse update speed like in XP? I might need to raise the mouse update speed in the driver options as my PS2 mouse would be much reactive like in XP ? Thank you Sith

In the Control Panel there is a Mouse application that looks almost exactly like the one in XP and there is a Pointer Speed control. Is this what you are looking for? Or was there somewhere else you adjusted the speed?

Thank you for your prompt response. Here is the missing option I think in Windows 7 http://www.dq.winsila.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/03/ps2mouse.jpg Why would the developers removed this ? I'm thinking that the fact they removed this option in the device manager, they have placed this option in an other place, how can I change this setting ? Thank you in advance Sith

I see what you're talking about. And, searching the internet, I see there are others asking about this buut I didn't find any answers. The only thing I can think of is that ps2 mice may be considered obsolute.

Ok so is there anyway to play in some windows files to increase the precision ? Because my laptop to have a ps2 touchpad witch cant be changed and reverting to XP is the only viable thing for me for the moment ? Or, can I decrease the mouse acceleration ?

You can get more functionality by installing the touchpad driver from your computer company. The interface you show is for old style internal x y wheels with rolling ball that does not apply to optical mouse or touchpad. The interface for that style mouse is no longer needed with new optical mouse. Not to be confused with ps2 connection which can also be an optical laser mouse as with usb. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PS/2_connector

Hi, From the website of the PC's manufacture, download the driver for windows XP and install it using Compatibility Mode. If you need to speed up the response due to specific use, you can download and install Windows XP Mode to achive it. Additionally, set the mouse pointer scheme to None may result in the similar effect as decreasing the mouse acceleration. Good Luck. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. You need to clarify exactly what you are looking for. Do you have a laptop with a built-in touchpad? If so, then you need the driver for the touchpad. Exactly what is the make, model, and series of your laptop? Have you gone to the manufacturer's website for driver downloads?
