Change a Windows 7 domain profile into a local profile
Dear Sirs, For a customer i need to unjoin al his computers from the domain. All users have domain accounts so the users have a local profile. I'll have to create a local user first before I can unjoin the domain, that won't be a big problem I think. BUT... the current local user profile contains all the settings for Outlook, passwords for websites and stuff. When I login to my computer in a workgroup a new profile is created an all my settings are gone. Is there a workaround to copy of use my previous domain profile instead of my newly created local user profile? Please help me!! Guido

Hi, Based on my knowledge, you may need to create a new local user account and copy the old domain user profile to the new account. You can follow the steps about how to copy files to the new user profile in Fix a corrupted user profile and see how it works. Hope this helps. Jeremy Wu TechNet Community Support
