Have a Netgear WLAN router / ADSL modem. Everything is connected to it wireless, including the PC. Now I want to add a WLAN bridge for my set top box. Problem is, the Netgear uses 192.168.0.x range, and the bridge (SMC-WEBT-G) uses 192.168.2.x. I need to configure the bridge by connecting a LAN cable to the Netgear (?) or directly to the PC. How and to what do I change the IP numbers? On my PC, under Change Adapter Settings, I see two adapters: LAN (crossed out: no cable connected) and WLAN (working and active). Connecting the bridge to the PC does not change this...but on the bridge the "connected" light goes on! When I right click the LAN icon, I see the TCP/IP options, v4 and v6. Which to use? The bridge's "website" should be 192.168.2.25. I hope someone can clear this up for me...

Reset the bridge to defaults You should have a button for thisTake the bridge device and plug it into the router Power it up.Run the "wizard" cd which cames with the device, it should find it and allow you do login and change theIP range to match yours.if the wizard does not find the device you will need to plug it into your PC's lan port (disconnect from the wi-fi first)Now set the ip of your PC to the 192.168.2.20 255.255.255.0 no gateway / no dnsNow power up the bridge and run the wizard it sholud find now or you have a bad device / cableBTW the "quick start guide" for the device tells you all this.....The more effort you put into life, the more you get out of it.

Did not work. Connected the bridge to the router, all 3 lights went on. But no 192.168.2.25 found, although I set both the router and the PC to the IP values. No internet either, spent 3 hours getting it back: only got it back after running the router's CD; could not change the IP of it, only after installing the factory defaults and entering its local webpage. I wonder why I must reset to defaults and enter all my internet details again?
