Certificates not accepted by Windows 7 for wired 802.1X authentication
Hi all, I have a problem regarding Windows 7 and wired 802.1X authetication. I am running my own little CA to provide certificates to Windows clients which are being authenticated via 802.1X. Windows 2000 and XP accept the certificates but Windows 7 doesn't. My CA certificate has been imported and everything looks normal but the computer doesn't react at all to EAPOL so I guess Windows 7 is not happy with the certificate. Is there any way to find out why it won't use the certificate I gave it ?

OK, in the meantime I found out that I have to import the certificates into the Store for the local computer (had it in the local user store). And since I found this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929847/ and this http://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/winserverNAP/thread/5e6282ce-3067-493a-84b1-077df15fb33b/ (authMode vs. cacheUser) everything seems to be ok.
