Ccleaner is very fast.Would you recommend its use in preference to XP Windows 'Disc clean up'Thank you1477==================================================I use it every day for deleting temporary internet files, cookies, emptying therecycle bin, etc...Avoid the Registry cleaner unless you understand 'exactly' what is being deleted.Removing the wrong file from the Registry can cause serious system problems. Most experts seem to agree that removing left over entries from the XP Registrywon't improve computer performance anyway.Volunteer J - MS-MVP - Digital Media Experience - Notice_This is not tech support_I am a volunteer - Solutions that work for me may not work for you - ***Proceed at your own risk***

You can do both. But if you use CCleaner, do *not* use its registry cleaning function.Registry cleaning programs are *all* snake oil. Cleaning of theregistry isn't needed and is dangerous. Leave the registry alone anddon't use any registry cleaner. Despite what many people think, andwhat vendors of registry cleaning software try to convince you of,having unused registry entries doesn't really hurt you. The risk of a serious problem caused by a registry cleaner erroneouslyremoving an entry you need is far greater than any potential benefitit may have.
