Can´t install win vista after removing win7
After removing Win7 and deleting all partitions on HD, making ny one and formatting the HD. When I install Win vista to get my Laptop back like it was befor, the installation coudnt be finished, every thing whent good, the system boot once. But when it comes to the last point "finishing installation" every thing stops and there are no HD aktivity, even after 8 hours running this installation. Win XP did not recognise the HD. I can only install win 7 64bit or 32bit without problem, on this system. What can be the problem her?

mzr - Now... When you're deleting, creating and formatting the partition - exactly what tool are you using? Are you using Windows Vista's installer? or XP's installer? Or some other 3rd party tool...? or...?

Possible conflict with NIC and install's plug and play. The NIC may have been initialized with info from the win7 driver. Unplug the RJ45 from your NIC. (Personally I would unplug everything (rj45 and all usb) ). Try again. Do not wait 8 hours - it either works or it doesn't. Takes maybe 15 20 minutes total.Kris

You can try do the low-level format your HDD. Then create a partition without formatting it. When install Windows Vista, try to format that partition with the Windows Vista installation disc.

But befor I used only win vista for deleting creating and formating. in all cases no luck.

But the amazing is that Win 7 intalls without any problem, every thing went smooth.

you can disable wireless in the BIOS. Check the BIOS for other USB things you might be able to disableKris

I can kinda see older versions of XP (original release) or Windows 2000 w/out SP4, or NT 4 choking on a drive - they didn't support partitions larger than 137 GB. But XP SP2 or laterand Vista - they should all be able to see, read and create partitions and install on top of them. OK... Let's try this...Insert the Vista DVD, boot from it. Delete all partitions on the drive. Create a new partition on the drive. Once the partition is created, stop. Reboot the machine, boot from the DVD again and this time format and install. See if that helps.

mzr -Bad Sectors are never a good thing to find on your drive... What I would do first - go to the drive maker's web site and download their diagnostics tool and run it on the drive in question. It will check to see how healthy the drive is and if it's worth the effort. IF the tool comes back and says the drive is on it's last leg - it wouldn't make much sense installing Windows, all of your programs, etc... At that point, it would just be smarter to go out and find a replacement drive (unless it's still under warranty) and install it and then go ahead and install everything on it.
