Cant open a word doument

When I click on Word it opens a document not the file. I cannot open a blank word document.
Two possibilities
1) Youve altered the shortcut, and its now to the document, rather than to word
2) Youve changed the default template.
Either way, your best bet is to ask in the proper forum for Word
