Cant install a network printer
Here is my problem. My laptop (HP DV6404TU) is currently running Win 7 Build 7000 and has been since it was forst made available, and without a problem. Recently I tried to install a network printer (LEXMARK Z612) which is currently connected to a desktop computer running XP Home. The printer is set up for sharing and all other computers on the network can accessthe printer. When I select ADD printer in the Laptop, it tells me that the Print Spooler isnt started. I go into the Admistratrative Tools - Services. In Services I select Print Spooler and then select start service. I still cannot get WIN 7 to connect to the printer. Can any one help me David

Hi David, This behavior occurs if the printer does not work with Windows 7 beta. I suggest that you download the latest driver for Windows Vista from Lexmark website, and install it in Windows 7 beta. Then, add the printer as a shared printer. If the issue still occurs, I suggest that you test if the printer works when you directly connect it to the Windows 7 beta computer. Search download in Lexmark website Important Note: Microsoft provides third-party contact information to help you find technical support. This contact information may change without notice.
