Cant connect to whs via homeplug ethernet
Windows 7 cant find whs via homeplug ethernet. This was working perfectly when i was using windows xr pro. Ive ruled out defective homeplug adapters as if i plug my laptop into my router it discovers whs straight away. Windows 7 is not finding the computer at all. Have tried disabling the firewall and still no joy. Have also tried connecting the whs directly to the router, with success. Is there any setting on windows 7 that blocks homeplug communication.

you need to post an IPCONFIG /ALL using the connection to the router and then using the homeplug

I think you may need to dumb down windows 7 to get it to talk to your WHS, you should find a few postings here dealing with this.

sorry I do not mark those as I do not care about WHS, but the search here works fine.

Is the laptop running Windows 7? If so that seems to imply the Homeplug is the issue, ie. your bypassing the Homeplug system.MS-MVP Windows Desktop Experience, "When all else fails, read the instructions"

"its not just whs, its anything thats connected through the homeplugs" you should have just said this and not said a a word about WHSYour postings are confusing.turn off IP 6 on the win7 PC and test, you need to find some else using the homeplug thingy to test with.do you have more than one win 7 box??

Hi, To make the issue clear, please also provide more information about the topology of your network. In addition, please also check the following: 1. Ping the WHS from Windows 7 and see if it works. 2. Check if you can access the WHS’s shares with UNC (\\computername\folder or \\IP Address\folder). 3. Check I you can access other resources or computers on the network. Thanks. Nicholas Li - MSFT
