Cant Change Lock Screen Windows 8
I have windows 8 pro and i tried to change the lock screen but it gave me an error and now I have a plain light blue background on my lock screen that can not be changed at all. I tried using the default backgrounds, custom backgrounds, and bing background
but every time I try it gives an error so im stuck with the blue background

Hi,
Please go to Change PC setting and try to change the Lock Screen again, then check whether there are any logs generated in Event Log. If so, post them here.

What is the error message when changing Lock Screen? Also, please try to create a new account and log on with this account to test again.

i already tried setting up a new account but the same thing happened. When i try to change the background from the settings i click on the picture and nothing happens i lock the computer the background doesn't change and if i try change the background
to a custom image its says an error occurred while setting lock screen

I think there is a place or registry key that Changing Lock Screen need to access but failed. Please investigate this by Process Monitor, if anyting is found, post back.

i found a solution i deleted the folder C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Systemdata and now im able to change the background

How did you delete the folder? When I try to delete it the file I get a message that says I need permission from the computers administrator to complete the action.

search the internet for take ownership its a reg hack that adds the ability to take control of files and folders. After u add it just right click the folder and select take ownership

I'm not able to find the Systemdata folder in my Windows folder....any other ways to access it??

This did not work for me. It has now stuck me with the default image and I cannot change it.

I can't delete that folder even when I change the security to give me full access
