Cant Access Shares on VISTA PC from Local Nework PCs Running XP-PRO
3 PC's on a network in the same Workgroup, all running Win XP-PRO. All hard drives (except C) are shared for full access. Worked great. One PC was formatted and Vista Business installed running Windows Live OneCare. Now the problems start. My Vista PC can access the other 2 without any problems (read and write). The other PC's can see the Vista PC in the Workgroup but get the following error when you try to access the Vista PC.------------------\\PCNAME is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The network path was not found.------------------1) Network discovery is ON. The XP-PRO PCs have the LLTD Responder installed. VISTA correctly displays the PCs on the network. All PCs are in the same workgroup.2) File sharing is ON.3) Public Folder Sharing is OFF (I tried setting it to on but made no difference)4) Printer Sharing is OFF. (I use a net work printer and all PCs have no problems here)5) Password Protected Sharing is OFF (It was on by default)6) Media Sharing is OFF7) Hard drives (other than C:) were shared with full access given to everyone. These show up when i browse the network from the VISTA PC but are not visible from the XP-PRO PCs.8) The VISTA PC is defined as being on a private network. Firewall is on. (Was off during testing but made no difference to sharing) I have seen many other forum entries with similar problems, but none with a difinitive answer tha works in my situation. Help PLs. Ian
