Cannot wake from sleep mode
I just upgraded to Windows 7 Prem.I have a IBM compatable that I built w/ processor AMD Athlon xp 2800+ 2.08gh 32bitOS. I can set mypower optionsto sleep or hibernate. Both functions work ok. When in hibernate, when I power up, it comes back up to my last session. When I set my power option for sleep, during the specified time, it does go to sleep mode. The power indicator on the cpu flashes to confirm sleep mode; however, I cannot wake. I've tried just about every configuration I could think off. The only way I can bring up my machine is to do a hot boot. Then it goes through the normal boot up. I've set wake timers to enable. To repeat, I can sleep and hibernate. I wake ok from hibernate. I can not wake from sleep mode.Do I have to go into bios ??thanks Eplas

This sounds like your issue, try installing this hot fix. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;977307&sd=rss&spid=14481 Mark Morowczynski|MCT| MCSE 2003:Messaging, Security|MCITP:ES, SA,EA|MCTS:Windows Mobile Admin|Security+|http://almostdailytech.com

Please also update BIOS and device drivers. If the issue persists, please test it in Device Clean Boot mode. Device Clean Boot ================= 1. Click Start, type "devmgmt.msc" (without quotation marks) in the Search bar and press Enter. 2. Expand "Sound, video and game controllers". 3. Right click on your sound card and then click "Properties. 4. In the dropdown menu of Device Usage, please choose "Do not use this device (disable)" and click OK. 5. Please use the same method to disable other dubious hardware such as: internal modem, network card and CD-R drive. Please note some devices such as video adapter are not available to be disabled. Does it occur now?Vivian Xing - MSFT
