Cannot upload pdf files to my external website from windows 7 or server 2008 machines
Hi there, I am running server 2003 ent edition domain with win7 clients (installed recently) running IE8 and office 2010. On any of either Win7 machines or server 2008 machines I am unable to upload pdf files to my external website. The upload of pdf files in done via IE8 explorer by visiting the website and clicking on browse button, IE8 just simply freezes on Win7 machines. I had no trouble uploading pdf files in XP machines with IE8 in the past now my domain has all machines with win7 IE8 and I am facing this issue. Also I have no trouble uploading pdf files in server 2003 servers. The funny thing is if I take home the same machine with win7 over it I can upload pdf files without any trouble. What I did on win7 machine: -Made IE in compatible mode - same issue occured I cannot upload. -I put my website address URL in trusted websites - same issue. -I installed Firefox and tried uploading pdf files -same issue. -I disabled windows firewall - same issue. -I disabled antivirus - same issue. -I have enabled the Active X and file downloads in IE 8 - same issue. -I reset the IE8. Same issue. -I disabled ad-ons in IE8. No luck. -I disabled user account settings in Win7 no luck. -I installed a brand new windows 7 image from CD and then tried uploading pdf files to the external site. No luck. What else need to be done to find out why win7 and server 2008 machines are not allowing pdf files to be uploaded. For infomation I have made different pdf files using word 2010 so the files are fine. Help plz

The issue should be caused by the website side. I suspect you disable the following policies on problematic computers and see if it helps. Network access: Do not allow anonymous enumeration of SAM accounts Network access: Do not allow anonymous enumeration of SAM accounts and shares If the issue still occurs, please disable SMB2 on problematic computers with the following commands. sc config lanmanworkstation depend= bowser/mrxsmb10/nsi sc config mrxsmb20 start= disabled Please note: there's an extra " " (space) after the "=" sign. I just hope the above suggestions can help you to make the computers work with the website. If they do not resolve the issue, I suggest you notice the admin of the website if it is possible. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Arthur Xie, I made the above mentioned changes but no luck. If I take the same laptop out of my domain I can upload pdf files without any issue. Strange! Any idea?

You may capture network traces with Network Monitor. 1. Download NetMon3.4 from the following website and install it on the computer 2. Launch NetMon3.4. 3. In the Microsoft Network Monitor 3.4 window, click Create a new capture tab … 4. In the new tab, select all the Network Adapters in the Select Networks window. 5. Switch to Network Monitor, press F5 to start NetMon. 6. Upload PDF onto the website. Wait until IE freezes. 7. Go back to the NetMon window and press F7 to stop the NetMon. 8. You can select the records and then right-click on them, choose Copy. 9. Paste the records in your post. You can run Netmon on a non-domain computer and then compare the records. Maybe you can find some clues. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Arthur Xie, Here you go. Frame 2640 seems culprit and may be you can help me identify the problem. I cannot seem to understand it well. The file name I have used is 'test.pdf'. The IE page stucks at frame 2640. I have put in the detailed frame as well. I can the whole capture as an attachment but there seems no option on this technet website. I have not seen any issue on your side. Now I just suspect that it is because of the firewall or proxy in your domain. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
