Cannot uninstall Hyper-v from windows 8

Hi

When use turn windows features on or off to remove the Hyper-v role in Windows 8

I receive an error "the changes couldn't be completed. Please reboot and try again

Error code: 0x800F0922

This happens when I try remove the GUI Management Tools

If try remove Hyper-V Platform when I reboot it configures changes then rolls them back with a failure

I have run a scf /scannow no errors

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hyper-V is not just a piece of software like other roles.

Have you stopped and / or deleted any VMs that you created?

Is the role actually installed and running?

Please run the Windows Explorer and go to the folder "C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\" and copy all files to your document folder, also copy the setupapi.dev.log from the folder C:\Windows\Inf, the "C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log" and the file "C:\Windows\winsxs\poqexec.log" to your document folder (otherwise you can't upload it), zip all files into 1 ZIP and upload the zip to your SkyDrive [1] and post a link here.

This fails and causes the Uninstall failure. Have you disabled the firewall service?

here is someone with the same issue. The only solution was to use system restore to go to the point before Hyper-V was installed:

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w8itprogeneral/thread/4cf4c02c-65c1-4ea7-8476-a4722586cdbb

I did have a look at that thread but I don't have a system restore point before installing Hyper-V

looks like I might need to format the machine but really don't want to :(

Thanks

Hi

When use turn windows features on or off to remove the Hyper-v role in Windows 8

Any help would be greatly appreciated, to remove it completely from my computer, I want to install other VMWare. This is unbelievable, how Microsoft became giving you no option to delete what's you don't need.
