Cannot stop sharing a folder on home network and cannot rename a network share
I have shared a folder in Windows 7 ultimate. WHen I right click and select SHARE WITH, I do not get NO ONE as an option, the only option available is ADVANCED SHARING which does not permit me to stop sharing and does not let me chane the name of the share. I have a spelling error in the share name that I want to correct. I have tried right clicking the shared in NETWORK that also does not let me change anything. There is no delete share option.I have one PC with a non-windows OS connected using wireless in my network. I am using HOMEGROUP; but wireless PC does not show in HOMEGROUP. It shows up in NETWORK. I will appreciate any suggestions.

I haven't set up a Homegroup, but this works for me using regular sharing: After clicking Advanced sharing... , click the Advanced Sharing button and un-check Share this folder . Steve Winograd, Microsoft MVP (Windows Desktop Experience)

I'm running into this problem as well. I've remapped some drive letters without first removing - or "Stop Sharing" in the UI - the existing shared folder paths. So now I have a bunch of shares that don't work and I can't get rid of them. I've tried through Explorer UI and command line and I'm getting the same "Error 3: System cannot find the path specified" error message. How can I either (a) update these shares with the updated driver letter (which is the only thing that's changed; or (b) forcibly remove these shares and start over? TIA -jkJeff King
