Cannot start Windows 7 backup manually after destination drive change
I'm using a Windows 7 Ultimate version SP1 32 bit version Backup schedule works fine all along, until I've tried to upgrade my computer, and added a new harddisk due to inadequate storage size. I used EASEUS Partition Magic to copy the entire Backup destination drive to a new one and then deleted the old harddisk. Since then, when I enter the page of Backup/Restore, the location of the destination drive showed 'disconnected' and the 'Backup now' button didn't show up. And I cannot press the Scheduler and Setting button on the same page either. Worse still, the backup process seemed to be running in the background automatically soon after I start my computer each time, and drags my computer to very slow. I followed some websites and tried moving the three files at C:\Windows\System32\Tasks\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsBackup to another destination, and tried pressing Configure Backup, but also showed no response Any experts to advise me how to solve this problem? Thanks in advance.

Open Task Scheduler. From Task Scheduler Library, expand this section: Microsoft | Windows | WindowsBackup Right-click "AutomaticBackup" task and choose Disable Restart Windows and check if you can access the buttons in Backup/Restore window.Ramesh Srinivasan | The Winhelponline Blog Microsoft MVP, Windows Desktop Experience
