I've connected my Canon MP160 Inkjet to my new HP CQ5320Y running 64bit Windows 7 - works fine. I shared this printer on my home network.When I add a network printer from my HP laptop running Vista the setup wizard does not find the printer named "MP160 Shared Printer". But when I enter the path \\pc-name\MP160 Shared Printer - a login screen pops up... I enter a valid user and password for CQ5320Y and I connect. Setup completes.And when I run "test print" during setup - it prints fine. Exit setup and print a word document - works fine. Shut down and restart laptop... try to print and get error - "Windows cannot print due to problem with current printer setup". don;t think so... must be something to do with permissions, logins etc... but cannopt figure it out??? Help!?!

If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. If you are using a computer connected to a workgroup, click the arrow button next to Password protected sharing to expand this section, and then check to see if password-protected sharing is turned on or off. If it is turned on, only people with a user account and password for this computer will be able to access your printer. Turn this off if you want anyone on the network to be able to access the printer you are sharing. To change this setting, select the option you prefer, and then click Apply. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. Note Anyone using this computer can already use any printer attached to the computer.
