Cannot send from windows 7 to a printer installed to another windows 7 pc.
Hi. What i want to do is this. I have a shared printer installed to a pc with windows 7, with port a local port (named forexample testport). When I print from this pc, the file is printed (to nowhere but it says printed, so I can continue my work with the spool file). But when I print from another pc (it doesn't matter if the pc has windows XP or windows7), an error ocurred ("Error- printing") Why is this happening? If my shared printer is installed to a pc with windows XP, there is no problem. The problem is when my printer is on a pc with windows 7 (it does't matter if it is win7 Home or Professional or Ultimate). the result is the same. Can anybody help me? and sorry for my english :D

Well you should check if there is a driver problem on windows xp, or try to acces a folder on the computer where the printer is installed. Or check to see before sending the print job to have the page formated correctly

Hi, You can follow this article to share Printer on Windows 7: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Share-a-printer If the issue persists, try to use this: Troubleshoot printer problems http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Troubleshoot-printer-problems Furthermore, please try to isolate printer drivers for these users: 1 Click Start 2 Input print management in Search box and press Enter 3 Go to Print Management\Custom Filters\All Drivers 4 Right click a driver, set driver isolation, isolate it. 5 Set same option to all drivers Regards, Leo HuangLeo Huang TechNet Community Support

Thanks for your help, I did all this but the problem remains. but now I am sure that the problem occurs because I have a local port as a port for my printer. but I cannot find any solution.

Hi, Furthermore, try to temporary disable firewall and antivirus program. Also disable UAC for test. Regards, Leo Huang TechNet Subscriber Support If you are TechNet Subscription user and have any feedback on our support quality, please send your feedback here.Leo Huang TechNet Community Support
