Cannot scroll in message pane OE 6
I am unable to use the scroll wheel to scroll in the message pane of Outlook Express 6. I can scroll in all other programs and in the list of messages in OE. I can also use the slide bar at the side of the message to move up and down, just not the scroll wheel.I have un-installed and re-installed both OE 6 and IE 8 using the add/remove programs windows components, however it comes back with all my bookmarks and messages intact, so I dont think that it has actually done much. This is a very irritating problem. Any help please.

Outlook Express has nothing to do with IE8 and all you did was remove access. You didn't reinstall OE. Try in a new identity. You may have a damaged identity especially if it is the default Main Identity. File | Identity | Add New Identity. Create a new one and test it. If all is well, you can import your messages and Address Book from the old identity and delete it.Note: Do not use the word Main in the name of the new identity. How to Create and Use Identities in Outlook Expresshttp://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=209169An Outlook Express basic repair kithttp://www.microsoft.com/windows/IE/community/columns/oerepair.mspx#EHHOutlook Express questions should be asked here.XP - Networking, Mail And Getting Online Forumhttp://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/xpnetwork/threadsBruce HagenMS-MVP Oct. 1, 2004 ~ Sept. 30, 2010Imperial Beach, CA

Unfortunately I had already tried creating a new identity, and every other fix that I could find on the internet. Nothing has worked.I am happy to completely remove and re-install OE 6 but cannot find anyway of doing this. All that I have read says that it is an integral part of IE, so I have tried removing and re-installing this as well. However each time I re-install each programme, it comes back exactly the same ie all favourites intact, all mail messages intact and same problem there.Ay more thoughts?

OE is a part of IE6, and they both are a part of your XP OS, so the only way to reinstall OE would be to reinstall XP. Check for Malware first. Download and run the free version of this tool.Malwarebytes Anti-Malwarehttp://malwarebytes.org/And just for the heck of it, try another mouse.Bruce HagenMS-MVP Oct. 1, 2004 ~ Sept. 30, 2010Imperial Beach, CA

Did you try setting up a new Identity? That might fix it. steve <bigpaulpump> wrote in message news:Email removed for privacy...Thank you Bruce.I already use malwarebytes and spybot.I guess I'll just re-install XP.Unless anyone knows different!?

I hate to see you have to go through all of that, but I can't think of anything else. The new identity was the best hope.Bruce HagenMS-MVP Oct. 1, 2004 ~ Sept. 30, 2010Imperial Beach, CA
