My PC running XP Professional had a piece of malware. I first tried to do a system restore but it did nothing. I ran a spyware program and it found and deleted a piece of malware. I decided to try and do a system restore anyway, but after selecting a restore point from the calender and clicking next I just get the panel that says Windows will take a few moments .. but then it never does anything further. I then tried creating a checkpoint and it reported back to say it cannot create one, and I should reboot and try again. I tried rebooting but creating checkpoint or restoring checkpoint do not work still.1 person needs an answerI do too

i would say you still have malware installed. and i would turn off restore, boot into safemode networking and download malwarebuytes, update it and run, and also run your a/v in safemode. if/when clean turn restore back on
