The address book will not load, I cannot reply to message from toolbar, reply from link in message or create new email. The only thing I can think of that might have caused the problem is, I opened an email with RE: in the subject line thinking it was work related, which it was not. Please copy & paste the complete error message in a reply here. When do you see this? What e-mail client are you using? Is Office or Outlook also installed on this machine even if you are not using them?Bruce HagenMS-MVP Oct. 1, 2004 ~ Sept. 30, 2010Imperial Beach, CA

Hi Bruce,Sorry for taking so long to respond, I had trouble finding the forum a pasting images. I should start by telling you this is a netbook..1.) I receive this message upon turning on OE6. --- "Address Book failed to load. Outlook Express is incorrectly configured, please reinstall."2.) I receive this message when I try to reply to an email via toolbar or address link in email. It also appears when I click “Create” from toolbar. --- "There was an error opening this message. An error has ocurred."3.) Once I click on “OK” from number two (2), I receive this message: --- "Outlook Express could not be started. I may not be installed correctly. Make sure that your disk is not full or that you are out of memory. Contact Microsoft support for further assistance. (0x8004104F) Where I mentioned the SPAM in the original post, wasNOT the problem. I later realized the problem started when I opened an email from my AT&T account, with different address. When I opened a message from there, I was not able to open the attachment, a newsletter. I also found I had Outlook 9, which I did not know I had and had not used. I also found a few emails there, dated around the time I purchased the netbook. I downloaded Office 2010 New Year’s Eve. Things are different since then but I was using Office 2000 and still getting used to the difference, however the current problem began lastweek.

And you still have not posted the entire error message. Bruce HagenMS-MVP Oct. 1, 2004 ~ Sept. 30, 2010Imperial Beach, CA

Is there an Outlook 2009? That is what I remember. I quoted error messages received from Outlook Express, as I could not copy and paste, nor paste screen shot. Now when I try to open original newsletter, it tries to load Word 2000, prompting me to insert disk. The Outlook 2009 message does not show up now.

There is an Outlook 2007 and 2010, but not 2009. When you want to copy an error message in a dialog box, you have to left click on it first to highlight it and then right click to copy.I think you are going to find the answer here from what I have pieced together from your posts.See the reference by PA Bear in this threadhttp://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/xpnetwork/thread/a8c8cf17-d792-481e-bcca-13b03852a995Bruce HagenMS-MVP Oct. 1, 2004 ~ Sept. 30, 2010Imperial Beach, CA
