Hi, I would like to know what name you want to rename. It indicates the new name is too long. Please simplify your folder name. Best Regards, Niki Please remember to click "Mark as Answer" on the post that helps you, and to click "Unmark as Answer" if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.

I am also having this problem all of a sudden within the past week or so on my Windows 7 x64 machine. I've made another user profile and it does not do it on the new profile. I can mkdir from the cmd prompt just fine, but when I try to make a new folder and rename it to anything (even 1,a,etc) it give the 'Destination path too long' error. It also gives this error when trying to save a file within a program to a new folder and naming it. I have tried virus scans, malwarebytes scans, chkdsk, looked at a dozen other threads that have registry files which did nothing. Is there any solution, or at least an easy way to maybe migrate all of my files/settings to a new user profile?
