Cannot reach Apache server from Wan side, only Lan side.
I have installed WAMPSERVER 2.0 on my windows vista x64 system but still am having issues with getting the webserver to be seen outside my local network. It is working fine within my local network. Been through several setup tutorials so far, no dice still. For testing purposes I have disabled my firewalls on my windows OS and on my router completely. They are turned off. I have changed my httpd.conf file to the following (Allow from all): # # AllowOverride controls what directives may be placed in .htaccess files. # It can be "All", "None", or any combination of the keywords: # Options FileInfo AuthConfig Limit # AllowOverride all # # Controls who can get stuff from this server. # # onlineoffline tag - don't remove Order Deny,Allow Allow from all Allow from 127.0.0.1 </Directory> # # DirectoryIndex: sets the file that Apache will serve if a directory # is requested. I have set up port range forwarding to the IP address of the computer on my lan that has the Apache server on it. http://i693.photobucket.com/albums/vv293/davidmanvell/Portrangeforwarding.jpg I also turned on the WAMPSERVER and made sure all services are running. So: http://mylanipaddress - No problems from any computer on the lan. http://mywanipaddress - No problems from any computer on the lan but when any computer wan side tries to access this they still get a the server is busy or down message. What am I missing? I can access the webserver from the computer the webserver is on but not from outside the lan. --------------------------- Here is my conf file with comments removed: ServerRoot "c:/wamp/bin/apache/apache2.2.11" Listen 80 LoadModule actions_module modules/mod_actions.so LoadModule alias_module modules/mod_alias.so LoadModule asis_module modules/mod_asis.so LoadModule auth_basic_module modules/mod_auth_basic.so LoadModule authn_default_module modules/mod_authn_default.so LoadModule authn_file_module modules/mod_authn_file.so LoadModule authz_default_module modules/mod_authz_default.so LoadModule authz_groupfile_module modules/mod_authz_groupfile.so LoadModule authz_host_module modules/mod_authz_host.so LoadModule authz_user_module modules/mod_authz_user.so LoadModule autoindex_module modules/mod_autoindex.so LoadModule cgi_module modules/mod_cgi.so LoadModule dir_module modules/mod_dir.so LoadModule env_module modules/mod_env.so LoadModule include_module modules/mod_include.so LoadModule isapi_module modules/mod_isapi.so LoadModule log_config_module modules/mod_log_config.so LoadModule mime_module modules/mod_mime.so LoadModule negotiation_module modules/mod_negotiation.so LoadModule setenvif_module modules/mod_setenvif.so LoadModule php5_module "c:/wamp/bin/php/php5.2.9-2/php5apache2_2.dll" <IfModule !mpm_netware_module> <IfModule !mpm_winnt_module> User daemon Group daemon </IfModule> </IfModule> ServerAdmin admin@localhost ServerName DavesComputersevername:80 DocumentRoot "c:/wamp/www/" <Directory /> Options FollowSymLinks AllowOverride None Order deny, allow Deny from all </Directory> <Directory "c:/wamp/www/"> Options Indexes FollowSymLinks AllowOverride all Order Deny,Allow Allow from all Allow from 127.0.0.1 </Directory> <IfModule dir_module> DirectoryIndex index.php index.php3 index.html index.htm </IfModule> <FilesMatch "^\.ht"> Order allow, deny Deny from all Satisfy All </FilesMatch> ErrorLog "c:/wamp/logs/apache_error.log" LogLevel warn <IfModule log_config_module> LogFormat "%h %l %u %t \"%r\" %>s %b \"%{Referer}i\" \"%{User-Agent}i\"" combined LogFormat "%h %l %u %t \"%r\" %>s %b" common <IfModule logio_module> LogFormat "%h %l %u %t \"%r\" %>s %b \"%{Referer}i\" \"%{User-Agent}i\" %I %O" combinedio </IfModule> CustomLog "c:/wamp/logs/access.log" common </IfModule> <IfModule alias_module> ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ "cgi-bin/" </IfModule> <IfModule cgid_module> </IfModule> <Directory "cgi-bin"> AllowOverride None Options None Order allow, deny Allow from all </Directory> DefaultType text/plain <IfModule mime_module> TypesConfig conf/mime.types AddType application/x-compress .Z AddType application/x-gzip .gz .tgz AddType application/x-httpd-php .php AddType application/x-httpd-php .php3 </IfModule> Include conf/extra/httpd-autoindex.conf <IfModule ssl_module> SSLRandomSeed startup builtin SSLRandomSeed connect builtin </IfModule> Include "c:/wamp/alias/*"

Possibly your ISP (who might that be, anyways?)blocks incoming traffic on port 80 (if not all ports.)Go to Shelds Up!, and run a scan. Post the results.-Chris[If this post helps to resolve your issue, please click the "Mark as Answer" or "Helpful" button at the top of this message. My ISP is Cox Internet. It is saying all my ports (Except for FTP 21 are stealthed). 21 is open (Something must be using it). Reading the description on stealthed ports, it could be because this router is a NAT router. NAT is on with this router. I tried turning it off but when I did I lost my ISP connection completely and could no longer access the net at all. Tried rebooting the router and computer etc but no deal. Not sure why it will not connect with NAT off. Any ideas? Stealth: A "Stealth" port is one that completely ignores and simply "drops" any incoming packets without telling the sender whether the port is "Open" or "Closed" for business. When all of your system's ports are stealth (and assuming that your personal firewall security system doesn't make the mistake of "counter-probing" the prober), your system will be completely opaque and invisible to the random scans which continually sweep through the Internet. Even if this machine had previously been scanned and logged by a would-be intruder, a methodical return to this IP address will lead any attacker to believe that your machine is turned off, disconnected, or no longer exists. You couldn't ask for anything better. Your personal firewall or NAT router protected system is acting like a black hole for TCP/IP packets. That's very cool. If your system did NOT show up as Stealth , but you would like it to, you will need to use one of the many free or inexpensive personal firewalls that are now widely available. Of the many firewalls on that list, we recommend (in alphabetical order) firewalls from Agnitum, Kerio, Norton, Sygate, Tiny, and ZoneLabs. I describe the operation of personal firewalls on this page .
