Cannot open FIM Synchronization service manager

Hi all,

I got an error when I try to open FIM Synchronization Service although the service is started now.

My current login account is a member of administrators local group and FIMSyncAdmins group. (Even a member of Domain Admins). But it cannot work.

I also try to restart the server (because right after install FIM, I also installed hotfix for FIM server)

Anyone can help please?

What does this mean?

My current login account is in local administrators and FIMSyncAdmins group. (Even my account I'm using is Domain Admins).

Whichever account you are logged in as, needs to be a member of the FIMSynAdmins group.  From your statement, it appears that you have an account running FIMSync Service and another used to run the tool. The account you are using to start the tool, does not need to be a domain admin, but a member of FIMSyncAdmins

Thanks for your reply.

YES, I mean

Account to logon to server and run the Tool is:

- Member of FIMSyncAdmins

- Member of Administrators local group

Account to run service is another account.

Although the service is started but I cannot open the FIM Sync service manager.

Anyone has any ideas to troubleshoot this?

Have you checked the event viewer.  is there anything helpful.

If Service is running, SQL is running, you have the permissions.  That is it

I got nothing in the event viewer that related to FIM.

SQL is cluster and running normally. The running account has sysadmin role in SQL server.

It's really strange. I just reinstall but still cannot open Synchronization Service Manager.
