Cannot map network drive on server
I have a Windows SBS 2011 server setup and running. It has been running great for some time. When first setting the server up I had to disable one of the network ports on my ASUS P5b Vista Edition mother board. Recently I have been trying
to increase network transfer speeds and noticed that there are a PCI and a PCI-e network adapter; of course I disable the wrong one. I then disabled the PCI interface, put in all my IP info into the PCIe adapter and then ran "Fix my Network wizard."
Everything now runs fine with one exception; I can no longer access any shared drive on my server.
I can:
Ping the server with both the IP address(192.168.1.2) and computer name (Praetorian)
I can access shared drives on other computers from the server including the servers own shared drives
Access the network through remote Desktop
I have tried:
Restarting server
Restarting client machines
Rerunning "Connect" on Client machine
Turning off Firewall on Server
Restarting DNS and Active Directory Services
This is very frustrating and I can seem to find the same problem listed by anyone else. I am sure I am missing something simple but this one is biting me in the butt right now. Please help.

Did not work.
Now my server name no long appears on the client machines. Can still ping name and IP from client with no problem. Haven't found any log entries that seem to address this. It almost seems like connections are being blocked but can't tell
from what. I have tried turning firewall off but no change.

I originally put this in the Windows 7 forum because all of my clients are Windows 7. For a Forum assistant I would hope for help but most of all that they at least read a post before moving it.
Thanks though for moving it to a forum that had nothing to do with my question and then making me take action to fix your mistake.
Guess that's what brought me to these forums in the first place though.

You need to enable
network discovery
File and Print sharing on that connection. (you probably had it as lan1 now is maybe lan2)
On the tcp/ip properties enable netbios over ip. (wins tab)

It was set to the default just like the first NIC so I tried to for it by checking the enable netbios over TCPIP but it had no effect.
I messed around with the system enough that my LAN1 (the working one) is now LAN4. However, whenever I enable that NIC everything works fine.
Mentioned in other forum that I am thinking the problem maybe an IPv6 problem. SBA says it is not working even though my NIC says it is and when I self ping the machine it returns a IPv6 address.

If you think that problem is ipV6 then just disable the ipv6 protocol on the NIC.
It is not used much anyways in most of the networks.

Thanks Brano but my preference is to find out what is causing the issue. I can already get around it by going back to the original NIC.
Also, I am getting rather fond of IPv6 and don't want to kick it to the floor. (not really serious about that just too much Mt. Dew in the system)
