I recently purchased a speakerphone (Avaya B159) which can be connected to a computer via USB to function both as a speaker and microphone. With this functionality it should be possible to use VOIP applications such as Skype or Google Talk. I am running Windows 8.1 on a Lenovo X-1.
When I connect the device it is recognized by the system and drivers install successfully. However when I attempt to make a call it does not function properly. The sound appears intermittently and is delayed over several seconds at the same time. Ie what you would normally hear in 1 second is split in bits over several seconds, with each bit several seconds apart form the next one. This occurs with both Google and skype for Windows Desktop.
When I attempt to make a call via Skype for Windows Metro version, (on a different PC). everything works fine. I have tested the issue on yet another computer (Samsung) also running Skype for desktop on Windows 8 and that also exhibits the same problem.
Please let me know if you have experience a similar problem and what I might try to resolve the issue.
