What is the model of the computer? You may download the latest drivers from the manufacturer website and install them. If the issue persists, boot in Clean Boot Mode and check the result. Perform a clean startup to determine whether background programs are interfering with your game or program Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. The laptop is an HP Elitebook 8540w. Yes I did try an updated driver from HP and Windows update before I posted my question. The user has had the computer since May and no changes have been made since October 18th according to my asset management software. The problem just started on Wednesday November 3rd. I also scanned for any virus/ Trojans, which came back clean. You can login in safe-mode but not safe-mode with networking.

Are your client DNS settings pointing to the internal DNS servers hosting the AD DNS zone? If you are pointing to internet DNS servers, you would not be able to log in since your computer cannot locate the proper SRV records.Visit: anITKB.com, an IT Knowledge Base.

Please completely remove the network adapter driver from Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features, then Device Manager. If it works now, try to install the latest driver. If the issue persists in this case, I suggest you contact HP support to report this issue. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Removed both network adapters, rebooted computer logged in, reinstalled both network adapters, reboot still unable to login when any network connection is present. I can unplug the network cable login then plug in the cable and all network functions (file/ print/ Internet) work fine.
