No matter which account or privilege level i use it automaticlly disables account on both servers and will not join domain regardless is their a compatibilty issue with server 2000 SP4 thanks for any pointers.I have turned off firewall etc but to no avail.message it brings back is access denied contact administrator etc , have same user credentials on laptop as domain admin so doesnt seem to be priviledge issue.

Hi, Thank you for the post. Based on my experience and tests, there is no compatibility issue between Windows Vista and Windows 2000 domain. I would like to confirm whether the domain account was disabled automatically after the Windows Vista computer attempted to join domain with this account. Meanwhile, please try to join domain again and collect the following information for further research: 1. NetSetup.log, which is located in %systemroot%\debug\. 2. Please capture a screenshot of the error message. After that, please upload the above information to the following space: https://sftasia.one.microsoft.com/choosetransfer.aspx?key=a05de55c-de10-4e99-afbf-4b611ab678ca Password: lphiDQr1@NlizZ Note: Please post a quick note in the current thread to inform me after uploading the information. I look forward to your reply. Sincerely, Joson Zhou Microsoft Online Community Support
