Hi There I have recently installed office 2010 on my windows 7 desktop pc, and am trying to open my existing one note notebooks, but everytime I click on a notebook i get the error message "one note cannot start becuase the desktop experience feature is not installed". I have tried to locate this in the add remove windows features section but I cannot find it anywhere? Please can someone help me with this as I have a lot of customer information in these notebooks

Hi, The Desktop Experience Feature is a feature of Windows Server product, it allows you install a variety of components and features that are provided in the Windows 7 operating system onto a computer that is running the Windows Server 2008 R2 operating system. Regarding your problem, please visit the following KB: You must have the Desktop Experience feature installed to start OneNote 2010 in Windows Server 2008 I am assuming that if the OneNote is installed on Windows Server machine, please have a double check. Meanwhile, as the issue is more related to Microsoft Office, I recommend you to post in Microsoft Office forums for a better assistance.
