I have an issue on Windows 7 (Ultimate 32 & 64 bit and Enterprise 32bit). I am unable to install programs that are on mapped network drives. I've tried mapping my drives as SMB, NFS and SSHFS shares but to no avail. The error I get is "The specified path does not exist. Check the path and try again." However, if I use the full UNC path I am able to install the program with no issues. I suspect the issue may be that the drive is mapped as a different user than the one logged in, which only exist on the File server and not the client PCs. What's confusing though is that when I use the full UNC path, I get prompted for credentials which is the same credentials as I use to map the shares. Any help/suggestion will be greatly appreciated. do you have uac enabled? at what point are the network drives mapped? (logon script?)

I've tried with UAC on an off. Right now it's on. When I used SMB or NFS the drives were mapped by logon script. Now I'm using SSHFS and the application (expanDrive) takes care of mapping once the system loads. Thanks.

In expanDrive if I uncheck reconnect at logon and wait until the system boots to manually connect it still fails. Disabled UAC. It fails for both SMB and NFS if the shares are mapped by either logon script or startup script. For SMB and NFS, it works the first time if I manually map the drives but fails after a reboot. For my scripts, when I use samba, I use the "net use" command. I've tried both "net use" and "mount" with NFS.

hi, you can right click the installation files and run with Administrator Privilege to see if the issue can be resolved,if the issue persisted,add the network location to the Trusted Sites to check the result. Finally,you can check if it relates with the firewall. hope it works.

I've added the location in the form of file://IP_OF_SERVER; file://HOSTNAME_OF_SERVER; //IP_OF_SERVER; //HOSTNAME_OF_SERVER but I still cannot get it to work. Should I be adding the UNC path or the mapped drive letter?
